IMPORTANT NOTICES FOR DUBAI NEW YEAR’S EVE 2023:

As announced by the RTA – Roads & Traffic Authority of the Government of Dubai, there will be road closures and traffic changes affecting the main roads in Dubai. In addition, there will be special operating times for public transport. This could affect how you get around on New Year’s Eve 2023 in Dubai.

Basically all major roads around Downtown Dubai will be closed as of 4.00 PM on 31 December 2022. These roads include Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, Financial Center Road and Al Asayel Road, from Oud Metha Road to the Burj Khalifa district. In addition, part of Al Mustaqbal Street and Al Sukook Street will also be closed. For safety reasons, the entire area will only be accessible to buses. Furthermore, the car parks could be at full capacity as early as mid-day on December 31st.

Please note that the main metro station for Dubai New Year’s Eve 2023 celebrations, i.e. Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall metro station, will also be closed early for safety reasons. The Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro Station will close at 5.00 PM or earlier, if the numbers exceed the station’s capacity. It is advisable to arrive in the area a few hours before 5.00 PM, or to use the Business Bay and Financial Center subway stations, which should be less congested.
