Ferrari World Abu Dhabi: Rides, Tickets & Visitor Guide

Whether you’re a motorsport enthusiast or a family seeking an unforgettable day of fun, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi should undoubtedly be on your UAE to-do list. This theme park, dedicated entirely to the world of motorsports and the enduring legacy of the Ferrari brand, stands as a testament to speed, luxury, competitive spirit, and automotive excellence. As a fervent Ferrari fan, I approached my visit with a hint of skepticism, but was instantly won over upon arrival.

Emerging from the desert sands, the majestic silhouette of this theme park – a sprawling covered area exceeding 85,000 square meters – is easily recognizable from a distance and even from the air thanks to its iconic red roof, emblazoned with a large Ferrari logo. Inside, you’ll find over 40 record-breaking attractions and adrenaline-pumping rides – including the world’s fastest rollercoaster – and immersive exhibits that provide a glimpse into the world of luxury Italian supercars and their racing legends.

If you’re traveling with children, be prepared to spend the entire day as they’re sure to be captivated. But Ferrari World Abu Dhabi isn’t just for kids. It’s a true haven for enthusiasts of all ages. In this guide, we’ve compiled all the essential tips and information to help you plan your visit, including an overview of must-try rides and details on ticket prices and discounts.

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi: Things to Know Before You Go

Ferrari World is one of Abu Dhabi’s most renowned theme parks, located on the sun-drenched Yas Island, which has emerged as the premier family entertainment hub in the UAE. With easy access from both Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Ferrari World transcends the typical family theme park, captivating and thrilling adults as well, even those who choose not to partake in the myriad of unique, fun-filled rides.

Having personally visited other venues of its kind and Ferrari-dedicated museums, I find Ferrari World to truly epitomize the celebration of the Ferrari brand: it’s a genuine museum of the brand and an immersive experience that transports you into the incredible world of Ferrari luxury and excellence, delving into its history and legends, allowing up-close encounters with its most iconic cars and famous Formula 1 vehicles that have truly made automotive history!

Ferrari World masterfully blends fun and exhibits, standing as one of the world’s largest indoor theme parks. It has garnered numerous awards and recognitions over the years, including the “World’s Leading Theme Park”, often outshining even the most famous Disney parks. Among its over 40 record-breaking rides and attractions, some stand out as truly iconic: the Formula Rossa, the world’s fastest rollercoaster, and the Flying Aces, boasting the highest non-inverted rollercoaster loop. Not to mention the state-of-the-art Mission Ferrari, a roller coaster that took 8 years to complete and was inaugurated in 2023.

You can also test your skills on a Formula 1 Simulator, experiencing the adrenaline rush of racing on some of the world’s most renowned tracks, while children can enjoy the thrill of being a member of the Ferrari pit crew and testing their skills with a tire change. You can even take the wheel of a real Ferrari for a drive around Yas Island, guided by Ferrari-trained instructors, although this is an exclusive experience not included in the regular ticket.

But Ferrari World isn’t just about high-octane thrills. It also houses a gallery of historic cars, a testament to the brand’s rich history and evolution, showcasing various models of Ferrari supercars, from vintage to the most recent, including some prototypes. For Ferrari brand enthusiasts, there’s a large store offering a wide selection of Ferrari merchandise. Additionally, Ferrari World brings a touch of Italian lifestyle to Abu Dhabi, with dining venues serving Italian and international cuisine.

    Ferrari World Tickets & Prices

Tickets for Ferrari World Abu Dhabi cost 345 AED (which is approximately $94, €87, or 7840 Indian rupees) and can be purchased online. The tickets include access to all rides and attractions for the entire day, along with complimentary shuttle bus service and parking. Given that Ferrari World typically sees thousands of visitors each day, it’s recommended to book your tickets a few days in advance. Children aged 3 and under can enter the park for free.

Moreover, entry to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is free with the Go City Dubai All-Inclusive Pass.

In close proximity, you’ll also find the other three renowned theme parks of Yas Island: Warner Bros World, Yas Waterworld, and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi. If you plan to stay in Abu Dhabi for a few days and wish to explore these other theme parks, you might opt for the Yas Island Multi-Park Entry Ticket, which allows access to 2 to 4 parks within a span of 6-14 days from the first entry, potentially saving you up to 55% compared to buying individual tickets.

For example, we considered a combined ticket for three parks. We wanted to visit Ferrari World, Warner Bros World, and SeaWorld, and if we had bought the tickets separately, the total price would have been 1125 AED. But with the combined ticket, it comes to 575 AED, which is half the price. This translates to a significant savings of $150 per person! The savings are even greater for those who opt for the ticket that includes all four parks.

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi Rides and Attractions

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi boasts dozens of rides and attractions designed for family fun, all inspired by the world of motorsports and the Ferrari brand. Depending on the type of activity, a minimum age or height may be required, but there are rides for all ages, including a playground also suitable for toddlers and Nello’s Adventureland, a large play area created for younger children (no height or age limit). Coming to the rides, these are the ones that we believe are absolutely unmissable and we recommend you to try:

    • FORMULA ROSSA: The Formula Rossa holds the record for being the fastest roller coaster in the world, and that alone makes it a must-try experience. But believe me, it’s not easy to describe just how insane the acceleration of this roller coaster is. It goes from 0 to 240 km/h in just 4.9 seconds, which is faster than an F1 car or a fighter jet! This ride is only permitted for those who are at least 140 cm tall, but younger children can still experience a less powerful but equally thrilling version, the Formula Rossa Junior, a scaled-down version of the Formula Rossa (min. 90 cm).
    • FLYING ACES: Inspired by a military bi-plane, Flying Aces takes you up 63 meters before launching you on a wild ride through dizzying loops and high-speed rolls at speeds exceeding 120 km/h. Minimum height required: 130 cm.
    • TURBO TRACK: Perfect for thrill-seekers, Turbo Track catapults you at high speeds (102 km/h) up to a height of 64 meters. From this vantage point, you can admire the entire red roof of Ferrari World before descending in free fall at a speed of 12 m/s. Minimum height required: 130 cm.
    • FIORANO GT CHALLENGE: This is the perfect ride if you’re with friends! The Fiorano GT Challenge is a twin racing coaster: you’ll be aboard a cart that resembles a Ferrari F430 Spider, and you’ll race your friends on two parallel tracks at nearly 100 km/h. Minimum height required: 130 cm.
    • SCUDERIA CHALLENGE: Want to experience the thrill of driving a Formula 1 Ferrari? You can at the Scuderia Challenge! This hyper-realistic simulator lets you test your skills driving a race car, with the sensation that it’s all real: the car’s movements, the sound, and the game screen.
    • SPEED OF MAGIC: At first glance, Speed of Magic may seem like a simple roller coaster suitable for the whole family, but in reality, it’s magical! This simulated 4D experience takes you on an exciting journey into the depths of the ocean, flying over cliffs, and through many other fantastic worlds. What makes it wow? The truly realistic feeling: the temperature, humidity, and light conditions change along the way.

These are certainly the most popular, but there are also other rides that we believe are truly worth it:

    • KARTING ACADEMY: This allows you to test your skills on the 290-metre-long Ferrari World go-karting track, which is the region’s first electric go-kart circuit. It’s a truly fun experience, but it is a timed attraction. Here’s how it works: as soon as you arrive at Ferrari World, go there and sign up. It’s included in the regular ticket, but spots fill up quickly.
    • MADE IN MARANELLO: A virtual tour of the Ferrari factory in Maranello, Italy, to discover how a Ferrari GT is made.
    • DRIVING WITH CHAMPION: A simulator that allows you to race on the Fiorano test circuit in the role of a trainee engineer alongside one of the Ferrari drivers.

For children, don’t miss the Junior Grand Prix where the children can challenge each other in a race by driving a (safe) small-scale replica of a Ferrari F1. Finally, a nice attraction is also Bella Italia, where you can explore a mini-Italy by driving a small-scale Ferrari 250 California and admiring the coastline and famous landmarks such as the Colosseum, a nice experience for couples too!

3 Reasons Why We Liked Ferrari World Abu Dhabi

    1. It’s the World’s Only Theme Park Dedicated Entirely to Ferrari and Supercars

Ferrari World is more than just an amusement park – it’s a sanctuary for motor enthusiasts. Its iconic design, resembling a massive red spaceship landed in the desert when viewed from above, is just the beginning. Inside, you’ll find dozens of attractions tailored for both adults and children, including high-tech racing simulators, kart races, and adrenaline-pumping roller coasters.

For sports car aficionados, the Ferrari Gallery is a must-visit. It houses the most comprehensive collection of models that have made Ferrari’s history. Additionally, the park offers numerous family-friendly spaces, play areas for children, and venues to savor Italian delicacies.

    2. Formula Rossa: Experience the World’s Fastest Roller Coaster

Formula Rossa stands as Ferrari World’s most famous attraction, and for a simple reason – it’s a roller coaster that operates at an insane speed! Truly, it’s mind-boggling! Known as the fastest roller coaster in the world, Formula Rossa reaches a top speed of 240 km/h (149 mph), surpassing even Kingda Ka, the renowned roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure in the USA.

The acceleration at the start is phenomenal: Formula Rossa rockets from 0 to 240 km/h in just 4.9 seconds, outpacing even a Formula 1 car or a fighter jet! The ride starts inside Ferrari World, ventures outside the park with exciting twists and turns, and then returns to the indoor park. It’s advisable to wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from the wind and desert sand. To ride Formula Rossa, you need to be at least 140 cm tall. However, children can enjoy Formula Rossa Junior, a scaled-down version of the super roller coaster that still offers plenty of thrills!

    3. Ferrari World’s Prime Location on Yas Island: A Paradise for Families and Motor Lovers

Ferrari World is located on Yas Island, an island entirely devoted to entertainment and housing some of the finest theme parks in the UAE. Just a stone’s throw away from Ferrari World, you can visit the Yas Marina Circuit, the international Formula 1 circuit that hosts the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, a must-see for motor enthusiasts. Here, you can even take the wheel of a supercar on the F1 circuit!

Designed with families in mind, Yas Island offers a multitude of activities. You can easily move from one attraction to another on Yas Island by taking the free shuttle bus called Yas Express, which frequently run between the island’s attractions. The island’s strategic location makes it easily accessible from both Abu Dhabi and Dubai: Ferrari World is a short drive from Abu Dhabi International Airport and approximately an hour’s drive from Dubai, making it an ideal destination for a day trip. However, we suggest considering an overnight stay in the area, and dedicate the following day to exploring Abu Dhabi.

How to Get to Ferrari World from Dubai

Ferrari World is a 50-minute drive from Dubai Marina and a 90-minute drive from Dubai International Airport, making it easily accessible for a day trip. Alternatively, there are day trips from Dubai that include everything you need: tickets to Ferrari World, round-trip transportation with pick-up and drop-off at your hotel, and even a guided tour of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and some other landmarks in Abu Dhabi, such as the Corniche, the Heritage Village, and the Emirates Palace.

If you are staying in one of the hotels on Yas Island, you can get to Ferrari World with the Yas Express free shuttle. The shuttle runs daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and stops near the main hotels on Yas Island. Ferrari World is internally connected to Yas Mall.
